What better way to wind down from an energetic, fun, jam-packed day of arts festivities than to be serenaded by some of the richest voices and most captivating music our country has to offer?

Capping off an energetic afternoon of bustling activities and performances, The Yayasan Sime Darby Gala Night brings legends of the Malaysian arts world together to share one stage.

The Queen of Jazz herself, Sheila Majid, leads the evening of cultural splendour with her rich, silky voice caressing the ears of even the most tired of festival goers, serenading them with her evergreen classics. Zainal Abidin, the man affectionately known as The Green Man, due to his passion for environmental issues, tugs on the heartstrings of audience members as he captivates them with his iconically local, yet charmingly international cross-cultural music style.

Dama Orchestra lends their talent to the stage with their fusion of Western and Chinese music to bring together a repertoire of hits updated with class, style and a Malaysian twist. Hands Percussion kicks up the energy with their astounding stage performance, encapsulating drumming, acrobatics and dance, giving audiences a high-octane treat for both the eyes and the ears. Equally captivating would be a dance showcase by the well known ASWARA Dance Company.

Paying homage to the composers of yesteryear, community band under the baton of Resident Conductor Cheryl Mah, the klpac Symphonic Band performs a number of classical pieces adding elegance and grace to the evening. Giving classic music a contemporary feel, Monoloque performs their unique blend of music inspired by pre-independence Malayan music with a fresh, edgy spin.

Truly a showcase not to be missed, The Yayasan Sime Darby Gala Night captures the beauty of Malaysian arts in a truly remarkable evening of local talents.
